Burnished steel plaque for bassoon

Product number: AC173C Manufacturer:
Among the wide range of plaques available for the bassoon, this one stands out as the least expensive. Its heavy weight makes it particularly comfortable to hold when scraping and, unlike plastic plaques, it will not scratch even after years of scraping.

Many bassoonists have asked us about the hole in the plaque and what it is for. The hole has no relevance to reed making, but is used to hold the plaque in place during the manufacturing process.

This plaque, as well as the larger version for the contrabassoon, is made by Chiarugi in Italy.
